According to the Danish armed forces, the four senior officers called back to Denmark are the commander of the battalion in Iraq, the head of military police, the head of military intelligence and the chief legal office in Iraq. It's been reported that replacement officers will be sent out to Iraq to lead the 500-strong Danish force there. Henrik Petersen, a spokesman for the Danish military, declined to specify the role of the four officers in the abuse scandal: "The minister of defence in Denmark took the decision yesterday [Tuesday] together with the chief of defence to withdraw four officers from Iraq because of the results from the investigation so far. But these results are not public yet." Accusations from an insider The allegations appear to have originated from a Danish soldier who spent some time in Iraq, and concern the mistreatment of prisoners at Camp Eden near al-Qurnah in southern Iraq.
