Hi, Quick question: Does BIND v9.2.3 allow multiple CNAME records, used to implement DNS round robin? For example: beta1.company.com. 30 IN A 192.168.1.1 beta2.company.com. 30 IN A 192.168.1.2 beta3.company.com. 30 IN A 192.168.1.3 beta.company.com. 30 IN CNAME beta1.company.com. beta.company.com. 30 IN CNAME beta2.company.com. beta.company.com. 30 IN CNAME beta3.company.com. (You can also see a similar example in the middle of page 274 of the DNS & BIND, 4th Ed. book.) If not, does v9.2.3 support the 'multiple-cnames' statement? The DNS & BIND book states that neither of these features will work after BIND 9.1.0, but I was wondering if things might have changed since the book was published. Thanks! His opinions could be costly if applied to your tax returns. In the thread "State Income Tax Refund" on misc.taxes.moderated a taxpayer described his situation and asked a rather straight forward and baise question regarding the tax treatment of a state income tax refund. Here is what the taxpayer asked: > Received a 1099-G showing my 1999 state income tax refund. I understand > that this is income in 2000 if state income taxes were deducted in 1999 > which they were; however, because my income in 1999 exceeded the limit my > deduction were limited. Can I reduce the amount of my 1999 taxable state > income tax refund accordingly, i.e. reduce it to amount that was actually > allowed to be deducted? Mr. Woods, EA, MST, responded: No. It's all taxable in full. Interestingly, Mr. Woods also believes that refunds of deductions that were fully deductible in a year that the regular tax was paid are to be excluded from AMTI. Thus, Mr. Woods believes that neither the income used to overpay a tax nor the refund of the tax is to be taxed directly. At least Mr. Woods is consistent regarding the tax treatment of itemized deduction recoveries. Consistently wrong. Cheers, If Indian cricket team wins, Indians start boasting. If Indians lose, they complain about umpiring decisions/racism etc.. It's very rare that Indians want to learn. This must change if the Indian society wishes to improve. For the current Indian tour of Australia, instead of debating which country is better in cricket, (the whole world knows that already, no need of debate), Indian media/fans should investigate, why a country such as Australia with a population of just 20 million (50 times smaller) is so good at cricket. What is their selection process? What are their training methods? How do they attract young people to this sport? How do they reward them? After finding answers to these questions, Indian cricket lovers should put pressure on their government to create similar conditons at home for cricket and other sports as well. Why the world's fourth largest economy with the highest number of scientists/engineers/doctors should be so poor in sports? There is no excuse. This is genuine love for cricket. This is the right approach to gain respect of others. Boasting and complaining is just cheap patriotism that does no good to either Indian society or the sport of cricket. Hej! I am so very happy for the family and I wish them the best of luck with their miracle baby.uring the course of it that if, when asked the question "What are you doing?", a three year old answers "I don't know", it's a bloody good idea to go and investigate. The Holy Father visited Croatia for the first time in 1994, bringing hope and encouragement to the then war-torn and partially occupied Croatia. The Pope also visited Croatia in 1998, on the occasion of the beatification of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac. The Pope's third pastoral visit to Croatia is his 100th apostolic visit outside Italy during the 25 years of his pontificate. I would be very greatful if I recieved a responce to this e-mail ASAP. From reading the email, I seem to think that he never wanted the item in the first place and would like the pay my listing fees because he actually feels guilty. Would you just ignore it and just carry on (obviously place on blocked bidder list) or would you send an email to the guy? Interesting then that the new equality body contains five times as many feminists on the council as it does any other group. I find it hard to believe that Patricia Hewitt doesn't understand the implication of putting Katherine Rake, head of the Fawcett Society, and ardent feminist. I find it shocking that she actually expects us not to laugh at her when she says that any member of the fawcett society is going to do anything to help men. Further, Harriet Harman's law which jails a man for murder if he finds his wife sucking another man's cock, and can't control the anger, yet allows a woman to poison her husband "because she's afraid" is one further act of a disgusting government. ... and that's why she's put a controlling vote to feminists on the board. Believe Patricia Hewitt? I don't think so. Just what have you done for the white men of the East Midlands Patricia, you monster, apart from take more of their tax to enable their girlfriends to play happy families without them? What are you going to do about the underclass of white boys you've created? Putting the same manhating feminists who caused all the problems in charge doesn't sound like you're very sincere to me. Complete hypocrite. ----------------------------------------------------------------- http://politics.guardian.co.uk/homeaffairs/story/0,11026,1215461,00.html Minister defends new equality body Alan Travis, home affairs editor Thursday May 13, 2004 The Guardian Ministers yesterday moved to assuage fears that a new single equality commission would dilute or create a "pecking order" in the attempt to combat different forms of discrimination. The trade and industry secretary, Patricia Hewitt, insisted the creation of the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights would provide better, not worse, protection for those facing discrimination on grounds of race, gender, age, religion, disability or sexual orientation. A government white paper published yesterday paves the way for legislation to set up the commission over the next two and half years. The CEHR will take over the work of the Commission for Racial Equality, the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Disability Rights Commission. Ms Hewitt confirmed that it was envisaged that the legislation would place a statutory duty on the public sector to promote gender equality as well as its existing responsibilities on racial equality and disability, but that a "lighter touch" would be applied to the private. In reply to critics who argued that the white paper was a missed opportunity to introduce a new anti-discrimination act, Ms Hewitt said the priority was to set up the new commission, but promised the need for further legislation would be kept under review. She said it was not enough to talk about the educational disadvantage of black and minority ethnic communities when those with the lowest test results were actually white working class boys. "These are the boys growing up in families and communities where the old manufacturing jobs have disappeared, many of the parents aren't in work and where if you do apply for a job, many employers will take one look at the postcode and not even offer you an interview. In other neighbourhoods we have boys growing up in disadvantaged Muslim communities. "Both groups feeling that their identity isn't recognised or respected, both at risk of asserting their identity in violent forms ... the BNP in one community, Islamic extremism in the other." The new commission would have to tackle both.
